OUR RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Jobs at South32 are listed in a range of places including our careers website and other job listing websites, as well as being advertised locally where appropriate. Applications are then made through our careers website.

Following the submission of your application, the Talent Acquisition team will review, and shortlist candidates based on experience, skills, capability, and role requirements. A phone screen may be conducted with shortlisted candidates.

Shortlisted candidates will participate in an interview with the Hiring Lead, where their skills, experience and suitability for the role are assessed and candidates will have the opportunity to ask questions. There may be more than one interview depending on the role you have applied for.

Prior to any offers being made, candidates must complete role-specific due diligence checks.

Once an offer is accepted, candidates are welcomed to the team and supported through the onboarding process by the Hiring Manager, ensuring a smooth transition into their new role at South32.

Recruitment process

To register a profile and create job alerts, visit our career site and enter your email address to sign up.
Typically, the process takes approximately 8-12 weeks from the date the job advertisement closes to a letter of offer, depending on the role requirements, the completion of due diligence checks and candidate availability.
In most cases, feedback is provided within 7 days of the interview taking place, although this timeframe may be extended in instances where we have a large volume of interviews. You will however be provided regular updates from Talent Acquisition. 
Yes, as part of our due diligence checks, you will be asked to send us a copy of either your Trade Certifications or Academic Qualifications depending on the role you have applied for.
