South32 has a 50 per cent interest in the Ambler Metals Joint Venture with Vancouver-based Trilogy Metals, which owns the Upper Kobuk Mineral Projects located in the Ambler Mining District in northwest Alaska. The formation of the joint venture followed a three-year exploration partnership with Trilogy Metals, targeting the Arctic polymetallic deposit, the Bornite copper deposit and regional exploration prospects.
Ambler Metals is an attractive development option within our growing portfolio and has three key parts – the high grade, polymetallic Arctic deposit, the Bornite copper deposit and an exciting regional exploration portfolio. A pre-feasibility study for the Arctic deposit is underway.
We’ve released Mineral Resource estimates for the Arctic and Bornite deposits for the first time in accordance with JORC Code guidelines. See the announcement here.
